AsiaReviewerManiac’s Embarassingly Lacking Year In Review (2016): Just don’t bother asking again…please

Hi everyone, and welcome back! It is finally time for me to share my own year in review…or at least try to. For 2016, it is most certainly more disappointing than last year’s by far. This year…it just hasn’t been the year for me folks.

In numerous aspects: uni, work and my social life has taken a major toll, and all I needed was some time to myself, to mend myself and make sure that I can stand upright again to face another day, and basically another year. Man, am I glad for 2016 to be finally over.

Sorry to those who have thought this year to have been not bad…this has been by far the worst year I could have possibly imagined it to be…honestly, let’s just get this post started already.

But wait! Before I begin, I want to kinda make a little note here, and stretch out the playing field with this year’s review. This year, in terms of watching dramas, has been both embarrassing and  just bad. However, I have in turn substituted it by watching plenty of movies which have all been fantastic. Seriously, some K-movies this year have just been brilliant, and I kinda wanna give them a heads-up, because it’s too late now to dedicate them a proper review. Perhaps I might consider it next year, but knowing me…I highly doubt it.

Let’s do this. Continue reading

Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo booted off “Running Man” without notice:…2016 just sucks man…

My lovely Spartace…how I will miss your chemistry on-screen

Yesterday was just simply a horrid day for fellow runners such as myself. Many are left in a tragic state over this news, and I felt that I myself needed to contribute my thoughts on this matter, and hopefully help others who are torn over the news.

Current trek with “Doctors”: Should I continue with it, or not??

photo733700

Hello everybody, and welcome back! As the title clearly illustrates, I am bringing to you all my current trek as well as my first impressions of the current topping-the-rating-charts K-drama “Doctors”. I was very VERY interested in checking out this drama for a while, especially after seeing its first teasers with an ass-kicking Shin Hye and a sweet-smiling Rae Won oppa~ Now that it is finally being broadcasted, a simple statement that I can make right now is that I was extremely impressed initially, and not disappointed in my decision to pick this one up. However, what this post will inevitably discuss is whether or not I should continue pursuing this drama, and finish it to the end.

So, without further ado, let’s begin this damn ‘current trek’ post already before I spill everything out in just the introduction!

“Birth of a Beauty” Review: Doctor/Ahjumma couple forever~ *peace sign* *sigh* Relationship goals…

3745437714_7abcbae6_1414148664022e80a4

Overall Review:

A drama that started out with a bang, filled with awesomeness that unanimously drew everyone in to see what would happen. However, by the second half of it all it just dragged and fell downhill…

Back again with another review for you all! I had just finished this drama just a couple of days ago, and I have to admit that I was purposely dreading to finish it. I guess I just can’t accept that our Doctor/Ahjumma couple will have to come to an end, after experiencing some of the highest and lowest times of their relationships. They have been through thick and thin (and no, that was not an intentional pun) together, and it just really pains me to finally place this drama to rest because no matter how slow and disappointing the second half of this drama became, I cannot deny the fact that I absolutely adored this couple to bits, as I do with most rom-coms.

And so enough rambling from me, let’s finish this once and for all!

“A Well Raised Daughter Ha-Na” Review: Long, long and epic, just epic…

Our four main leads...nice~

Our four main leads…nice~

Overall Review:

A really exhausting ride, one that may be the funnest of times, or the most torturing of times; it really depends on which ship you sail with. But one thing is for certain – you will definitely stick around for other reasons other than the romance.

Hey guys, I’m back again with another review! This time it’s a daily drama that I had randomly picked up a week ago after realising who the main protagonist was (through utter shock!) and that the amazing Lee Tae-Gon was in it too. After looking up online that there was not really a lot of reviews out there about this drama, I decided to give it a try myself and see how I would find it.

This is in fact the longest drama that I have ever watched. And even though each episode is only 35 minutes long,  the whole drama still clocks up to over 60 hours worth of content. It just seems so scary that I was able to finish this entire drama within a time span of a week… Oh dear, my addiction is official (not that I wasn’t aware of that before) And it’s slightly worse with this drama because objectively speaking, this wasn’t exactly the best drama I’ve ever seen…

On a side note as well, there is a certain section that does include spoilers. Please be aware and venture forth with caution. It has been marked and labelled, don’t worry, but just…be careful, ‘kay?

“It’s Okay, That’s Love” Review: One of the most refreshing dramas that I have ever seen in a LONG time

A drama definitely worth experiencing, with lessons worth learning...

A drama definitely worth experiencing, with lessons worth learning…

Overall Review:

A drama that never enters the realm of absurdity; it seemed too good to be true at times.

Hello lovelies and welcome back! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday; I sure did! As the title (and fantastic picture) has already hinted to you, this review has been placed on hold for too long and so it is finally time for me to share with you all what I thought of “It’s Okay, That’s Love”, possibly one of the best dramas I have ever seen in 2014 (and when I mean dramas, I mean out of any Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean etc. that I have seen all year!) There is just so many positive aspects to say about this drama, but not enough negatives for it to seem fair. Anyway, let’s get started, shall we?

As per usual, I will try to make this review as spoiler-free as possible, which actually may happen this time hehehe~

“It’s Okay, That’s Love” First Impressions: Oh yeah, I’m so going to enjoy this :3

Hey hey everyone, and welcome back to the blog! As we are all aware, some new K-dramas are starting to roll in over the course of the next couple of weeks. One drama in particular that I have been keeping a close eye of is, as the title may have already mentioned,”It’s Okay, That’s Love”. After hearing that both In-Sung oppa and Hyo-Jin unni were going to be co-starring in the drama, I already had such high expectations for the drama. And, as expected, they did not fail me at all!

Sooooooooo let’s get started!

Such pretty people...they look great together btw >///<

“49 Days” Review: A drama I will encourage even my own future children to watch and learn from :)

A drama worth watching; a journey worth experiencing...

A drama worth watching; a journey worth experiencing…

Overall Review:

A drama that has, and will forever, teach me about life and how grateful I should be of each day I am given. With its impeccable writing and an amazing cast, this drama took me on a journey that was thought-provoking, moving, memorable and inspirational.

Hello~~ Welcome back to the site! Today will be another Kdrama review!!! I’ve been enjoying my holidays quite a lot by catching up on a couple of dramas that I’ve been eyeing on for the past couple of months, years even. “49 Days” was one of them, a drama that I had put aside for at least a year or two as I wasn’t too sure about what is was about. Not wanting to ruin too much for myself, I left it and kind-of forgot that I wanted to watch it in the first place!

But, after realising that Bae Soo Bin was in the drama (I’ve been on a recent witchhunt-like routine with him for the past week or so LOL), I wanted to see into his other works apart from the famous classic ‘revenge’ Kdrama “Temptations of an Angel”. But, after I had watched the first two episodes, I realised that my love for Soo Bin’s acting wasn’t the main reason for me finishing the drama in just under 2 days; it was due to the amazing and wonderfully talented Lee Yo Won who truly made this drama one of the most popular Kdramas of 2011, and possibly one of my most favourite dramas of all time.

So, shall we begin??

Note: It may be impossible for this review to be spoiler-free, and I would recommend anyone who is considering to watch this drama, to avoid any possible spoilers at all costs. Knowing anything about the ending may possibly ruin the experience. I will be making notices before and after any possible spoilers in the review. Regardless you have been warned.

The Heirs Episode 20 (END) Recap: A rollercoaster ride that came to a finish; some got off safely while others got dumped and fell off near the end…

1450230_623089621087505_495380378_n

And so, “The Heirs” has finally come to a close, after taking all of us on a ride that we wish to remember some, but also forget some. It has been one heck of a ride – from happy to sad moments, from angry to frustrating-moments-where-could-even-throw-your-computer-away. But no matter what has happened over the past 10 weeks, it is not hard to say that we will dearly miss the whole cast and story. And if these characters were real people in our lives, we would want to dearly wish them all the best in their endeavours.

On a side note, I’m sorry that this recap is being posted up so late; had to go to work earlier than usual therefore the post had to be postponed.

Alright, let’s finally finish this! Continue reading

The Heirs Episode 19 Recap: It was a rollercoaster all right, but why did it seem not as scary as I expected it to be??

Definitely my most favourite scene out of the whole episode! <3

Today’s episode was what everyone was probably not what everyone hoped for, but it was exactly what was expected of the episode – an episode that just gave-out literally at the last minute.

This episode had its moments, as in it showed what we wanted to see (cute, happy moments between the main leads) but in all honesty, considering this is the penultimate episode already, plot-wise there should have been more.

Let’s do this!
