2018 was a year of more hardships, more adjustments and a whole lot of change. It’s due to this ‘backlog’ that I only post my reflection of my 2018 now, rather than over 3 months ago. Through this year, I’ve truly learnt and understood the role I take as a ‘working-adult’ who is expected to contribute back to society in its own way. Let me explain. Continue reading

Goodbye 2017, I’m welcoming 2018 with open arms
2017 was a year of change, hardships and adjusting. Through this year, I’ve understood what many describe their first year out of uni to be like: daunting, frightening and just downright nerve-racking. I was always doubtful about it ever happening to me, but it sure hit me hard.
The one and only Wax (왁스) returns with her new project album “Spark(스파크)”: Unni, you are one amazing woman!
What’s up everyone, Hyunnie here! I am finally back from a very lengthy hiatus! As I have explained in my previous post, I’ve been busy trying to finish off a couple of assessments (major essays for example), fighting off a bad case of the flu, and also been trying to cope with my first days of practical at a high school! So, August & September have just been such a hectic time period for me, and I do apologise for disappearing for so long! I’ll try and get back into the routine again, but I have to admi, that is certainly easier said than done!
Today’s post is about Wax unni’s newest album “Spark”, which was released on the 26th August. I have been a huge fan of Wax ever since I discovered her song Coin Laundry (사랑한 적도 없는) at the beginning of the year (“Coin Laundry” is still a song that I love and play all the time!) so when I heard that she was releasing a new album, I literally freaked out and jumped up and down for about 10 minutes straight! The sad thing about this, is that I feel that she is so underrated, despite her being in the business for almost 15 years. Therefore, I hope that this post will bring more awareness about her, and encourage you all to go and check her out; she is amazing! If you want to read more about her, here is a nice post written by Soompi about her background and some of her greatest hits.
Alright, enough chit-chat and let’s get started with this review!
Behold, EXO’s Kris joins Instagram…*ovaries and mind explodes*
Yep, Kris has gotten an Instagram.
And yes, of course I’m already following him.
I can’t believe that this is actually happening! Too happy guys, too happy.
Super Junior-M’s “Swing” teasers have been released, and I will probably not concentrate all day tomorrow…Youtube stalking, here I come!
Hey guys and welcome back to another post in relation toooooooooooooooooooooooo
C-POP!!! Yay for C-pop!
So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything involving C-pop. I’ve missed so many exciting and potential reviews that it’s truly saddening *tear drop* Not to mention, I’ve missed so many opportunities to review on anything about Super Junior, which in my books seems like a sin I’ve committed (I’m so sorry Oppas, please forgive me!)
Well, as the title may have hinted already (honestly Hyunnie, how thick can you get?!) this post will be relevant to the official teasers for Super Junior-M’s “Swing”! HOORAY FOR THE COMEBACK OF SJ-M! God I’ve missed them so much ><
And so, without further ado, let’s get started with the release of Super Junior-M’s teasers for “Swing”!
What I’ve Been Up To Lately: Life And Drama Update
Hey ya’ll! How’s it going?? Me? A lot actually, both in life and in drama-land actually. Initially, I was planning to do a post solely about a particular drama I’m currently watching, but then I had realised that I was taking too long to do it. If I feel like it, maybe I’ll do recaps about it or something however for now, I think you all deserve an explanation for what has been happening in my life so far, and why have I gone MIA for the last 2 weeks or so.
So firstly, as I may have stated in another post previously, I am currently moving out of my current home (with the family) to a new one. The main issue was the fact that we didn’t choose to move out; we’ve been forced out of our current place in order for the house to be redone and resold to someone else. Since that happened, my family and I have been house hunting for weeks, and doing nothing else but. Just a couple of days ago, we had finally settled ourselves with a place, and are currently in the process of selling furniture, packing things up and organising the house in order to make sure that nothing is left behind. It’s been fun to actually discover things that I never knew existed (or find things that I never knew I had). I’m sure many of you probably understands that feeling but for me, it is foreign yet refreshing.
So, for the past two weeks or so, my house has transformed to a place piled with boxes left, right and centre containing my entire life that I had grown up knowing and loving. My life has been entirely turned upside down, and my mind has been just frazzled and unable to think and write anything. Hence the lack of posts and motivation to do anything but just pack and make sure that I get ready for university which starts in the next two weeks or so. I do apologise that I haven’t been posting anything; hopefully once I move into my new place, and get under way with uni, I will be more organised and consistent with my posts. It sucks that I haven’t been able to write anything lately however, I wish to provide you with the best that I can do, rather than just anything that comes to mind just for the sack of posting something.
Anyway, the purpose of this post (apart from the obvious) was to actually inform you as to what I have been watching, what I’ve been checking out and finally what I have been following about to the point of pure madness…let’s start, shall we??
I got nominated for a Liebster Award?! WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!
Hey everyone!! I am so so sorry that this particular post has gotten to you guys so very late. My life at the moment is getting pretty hectic; suddenly being forced to move out within one-two months is a big ordeal in my life, as finding a place to live is impossible apparently in the world I live in. But, no matter what happens, blogging will continue! (Even though I was taken away from it for days on end ><)
Andddddd HAPPY CHINESE/LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Hope all you people who celebrate it (me included) had/have a nice time spending with the family and celebrating the New Year with everyone! 恭喜发财!!!
Anyway, thank you to the the lovely Sarah from DramAdrenaline, Coffeenlucia, Chocokokoro and Kelly from Kellydramafantasy for nominating me for the award!!! You have no idea how much this means to me >//<
So, I honestly cannot believe that this is actually happening; seriously, when I first found out, I thought that it was a joke. I got nominated for a Liebster Award, which in blogging-land is a REALLY BIG DEAL! It is also quite legit, so there are rules and everything! Wait, give me a sec while I run away and calm down for a bit, yeah? *Runs around in a circle for 15 minutes non-stop* Okay…I think I’m…going to be sick!
How the Liebster Awards works:
1. Each nominee link back the person who nominated them.
2. Answer 10 questions which are given to you by the nominator.
3. Nominate 10 other bloggers for this award who have less than 200 followers.
4. Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Let the nominees know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them.
Alright, firstly I will answer Sarah’s questions, then move onto pantomiming‘s, Chocokokoro’s and finally Kelly‘s okay?
Wax(왁스)’s comeback track Coin Laundry (사랑한 적도 없는) is by far the best thing I’ve seen and heard all year, literally
Hey everyone and I am back once again to share with you what I’m finding this week in the lovely world of Kpop!
This week, while scrolling through my endless content-filled Youtube subscription list, I came across the video linked below. Without much knowledge about the singer, I chose to watch the video since I recognised the actor in the MV, Daniel Choi.
And boy, was I not ready for what I was about to discover!
Wanna know what I thought about it? Then please keep reading! Continue reading
New JYP rookie group GOT7 releases “Girls Girls Girls”, which could have been A LOT better…
Hey guys and welcome back! I disappeared once again; not to fear, it was just to clean up (literally!) some things going on in my personal life at the moment.
But…I’ll leave that for another day; let’s get on with the actual review at hand! I found out about the debut of JYP’s new boy group GOT7 from my fellow blogger-friend Saphirya over at her website, and went ahead to check out their MV and song. And after watching the MV myself, I couldn’t agree more.
I’M BACK!!! *spirit fingers* With a new start and new perspective for 2014!
Soooooo I am back from my much needed holiday to the Gold Coast!!! *Crackers and streamers go off* Yes, yes I am well aware that you have all missed me a lot (cough cough) but now I have returned, with a brain full of nothing and a body covered in a slight tan that makes me look more unhealthy then I really was :S
…This is going to be a great start to the new year, huh?
So, what I had wanted to do with this post is introduce to you all some of the new things I intend to do on this site in the coming future cause it’s time to start fresh and new, right?? Also, I want to list down my own personal goals for the new year because it is time to get yourself together Hyunnie!
Alright, so how this will work: two titles – Asia Review Maniac Goals for 2014 and Yami Hyunnie Goals for 2014. Each will list the goals I want to achieve for the year, and hopefully I will return and cross off which ones I have done on this post. If not, then a montage of the goals achieved may be made into some sort of post, and then linked here. Let’s just go with the flow, shall we?
So, let’s start!
