“Goblin” Review: A bittersweet and memorable journey for many years to come

goblin_poster_1

Overall Review:

A journey which was poignant, memorable and epic for not only the people we follow along with, but rather the specks of wisdom that the show sprinkles throughout. Through its amazing cinematography, sweet chemistry and intriguing messages, this drama will indeed keep your interest as it sets itself apart from most other dramas.

Like many already have (and eventually will), I am certainly not the first nor last blogger to share their thoughts on this drama. Goblin was perhaps the most anticipated drama of the remaining quarter of 2016 and as expected, it did indeed deliver. After laughing and crying my heart out for numerous hours (and recovering from the numbing feeling that I felt for hours after watching the drama), as well as falling into a little slump for a couple of weeks, I have finally gained the courage to close this drama, and finally say my farewell to our Goblin and his bride.

*deep breath* Let’s get on with it.

Returning back to Blogging: 30-Day Asian Drama Challenge – Day 28

arm-30day-challenge-d28

Hello and what is this? We only have 2 more days of this challenge?!! Indeed we do. Today’s question is in fact:

Your top three sisterhoods in dramas

Unlike the abundance of possible answers like yesterday, today’s answer is a lot more difficult. Surprisingly, asian dramas (specifically K-dramas) I’ve noticed don’t create as many sisterhoods as there are bromances. That is really disappointing in my opinion since the ones that do exist are just so sweet, and it would be nice if the female leads had a bigger support network to rely on. Here are the ones that I have been able to remember and note down:

Returning back to Blogging: 30-Day Asian Drama Challenge – Day 27

arm-30day-challenge-d27

Hello and a very happy warm welcome back! Oh my god~~ Three more days to go of this challenge! Can’t believe that it has been almost a month since I first started posting for this. It’s really starting to feel bittersweet. The question for the day is:

Your top three bromances in dramas

…I think this question is trying every way to kill me. ONLY 3?!! But, but, but…that’s almost impossible! How am I supposedly going to be able to reduce all of K-drama’s cute and awesome bromances into only just 3 :/ *sigh* Welp, sorry to all the other bromances that I’ve failed to list in this post…you’ll always be in my heart xD

Returning back to Blogging: 30-Day Asian Drama Challenge – Day 21

Hello and welcome back fellow readers/followers! Today’s question is gonna be a fun one!

Your favourite ahjussi romance

I just can’t pick one…there’s been so many. I am definitely a sucker for these ahjussi romances (more so than noona romances to be honest) and it’s quite sad to see that many of these dramas are quite downplayed and less popular than noona dramas. I’m presuming it’s because people are more commonly found in such large age gap relationships, so it hits a nerve? I don’t really know what the true reason is, but certainly the noona dramas are a lot more popular than the ahjussi ones. Anyway, below are the answers I’d give (I kept it to 3 to ensure that I wouldn’t ramble on)

AsiaReviewerManiac’s Embarassingly Lacking Year In Review (2016): Just don’t bother asking again…please

Hi everyone, and welcome back! It is finally time for me to share my own year in review…or at least try to. For 2016, it is most certainly more disappointing than last year’s by far. This year…it just hasn’t been the year for me folks.

In numerous aspects: uni, work and my social life has taken a major toll, and all I needed was some time to myself, to mend myself and make sure that I can stand upright again to face another day, and basically another year. Man, am I glad for 2016 to be finally over.

Sorry to those who have thought this year to have been not bad…this has been by far the worst year I could have possibly imagined it to be…honestly, let’s just get this post started already.

But wait! Before I begin, I want to kinda make a little note here, and stretch out the playing field with this year’s review. This year, in terms of watching dramas, has been both embarrassing and  just bad. However, I have in turn substituted it by watching plenty of movies which have all been fantastic. Seriously, some K-movies this year have just been brilliant, and I kinda wanna give them a heads-up, because it’s too late now to dedicate them a proper review. Perhaps I might consider it next year, but knowing me…I highly doubt it.

Let’s do this. Continue reading
