ASIA REVIEWER MANIAC TURNS 4!!!

Again from the same provider last year~

Again from the same provider last year~

Huh, where has all of our time flown to? How could it already have been another year already? I swear, I’m gradually losing track of time so quickly; I’m worried that I have the memory of a goldfish at times haha. Anyway, today marks the 4th year since the blog had begun, and I am really proud yet baffled about it.

Looking back at what I had wrote exactly one year ago, I feel that I have failed so much in terms of what I have done for the blog. I have been taking unannounced hiatus, and not been posting the best quality works that I can produce. There was a point in time where I was simply just not wanting to post what I was watching, and just wanted to focus on the watching portion. About that limbo I mentioned last year? I’m still there, and to be honest, the future of this blog is still unclear. Despite how much I want to commit to this blog wholeheartedly and expand it more, I’m still up to this point unsure as to whether I would like to go with it.

However, for the sack of you all, these committed, wonderful and supportive readers who have continuously supported this blog, and left comments or even just gave a glance into what I do, I am still driven to maintain this blog, and try to provide the best possible posts that I can provide. I’m considering of venturing into other areas, such as books or music again as I did in the past. If this sounds good, let me know 😉

Hmm, what have I even been doing over the past year? Since our last birthday, statistically we have been on the rise despite my lack of activity in both views and readers, which is just mind-blowing for me. As I’ve mentioned in the past, no matter how busy or tied down by life in general, this blog still continues to be present in the back of my mind, which I guess indicates how difficult it will ever be for me to even consider letting this go because in the end, I really do enjoy just spewing out my thoughts and feelings on a platform that is mine to own and under my own jurisdiction. I am free, which is something that I truly appreciate when my life is always so structured, must follow certain procedures and cannot just simply be complete in my own way or nature. And so, Asia Reviewer Maniac will certainly continue to stay here for (hopefully) many years to come, with definite improvements in quality in both writing and creativity.

Thank you all so much again for being here with me and this blog. I love you all, thank you all again for just being there and I wish you all a lovely day/night, wherever you are in the world! Asia Reviewer Maniac fighting! Hyunnie fighting!

❤ Hyunnie ^^~

ASIA REVIEWER MANIAC TURNS 3!!!

Happy Birthday Candle and Animals Isolated on white

Not my picture, but omg it is so adorable~~

Once again, another year has passed without much notice. Today marks the 3rd year since the blog first started, and I really am truly proud of it.

As I’ve mentioned in my 2nd birthday post, this blog wasn’t really a big commitment that I had anticipated to follow right from the get-go. The birth of this blog was so abrupt that I myself wasn’t too sure what to do with it. Even now, I still hover in a weird limbo about what I am trying to achieve with this blog, but I feel that I’m slightly more comfortable with the idea of blogging in comparison to how I was last year.

Over the last year, a great amount of things have changed in regards to the blog and in my own personal life. The blog has since doubled in the number of followers and page views ever since last year, which is absolutely mind-boggling to me since I feel that I have been so out-of-touch with this blog. I am absolutely grateful to each and everyone of you who have been following the blog, whether that was a year ago, or even if it was just a couple of days ago; I thank each and every one of you who has visited the blog, and decided to stick around. This blog, regardless of how busy I am with my personal life, is always in my thoughts. Likewise, all of you are always there, reminding me that I still have a place here, doing something that I love and want to do, regardless of what’s happening in my life so far.

Asia Reviewer Maniac will continue to exist, hopefully with better and high quality posts that everyone will be interested in following and reading. Thank you all so much for always being there for me, even when I couldn’t.

I love you all, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I wish you all another great day, and another great year. Asia Reviewer Maniac, fighting!

❤ Yami Hyunnie ^^~

ASIA REVIEWER MANIAC TURNS 2!!!

The picture isn't mine, but it's super cute~

The picture isn’t mine, but it’s super cute~

Yep, you read that right! Today marks that day exactly 2 years ago where I decided to start a blog site in order to share my love for Asian culture.

2 years ago, I didn’t really think much about it. Right after I created the site, I left it alone for months in order to concentrate on my last months of high school, and to finally take those exams in order to decide what I would do with my life. Never would I have thought that Asia Reviewer Maniac would become something part of my life that is just as important as eating or sleeping. I think about the blog constantly, even though I do not get the chance to post as often as I hope to. I do hope to change that, but life always finds a way to make sure that it doesn’t go as smoothly as you hope for.

In two years, I have gained over 400 followers, over 30,000 views and a whole load of friends who share the same passions as I do. Without you all continuously supporting me and the blog, I couldn’t possibly imagine what I would be doing with my life apart from studying or going to a part-time job.

Asia Reviewer Maniac was something that was born with not much planning, thought or concern. But now, I hope to make this blog a place of purpose, enjoyment and knowledge. I thank you all for following the blog, whether it was from early on, or whether it was just yesterday because without you all, there wouldn’t be Asia Reviewer Maniac, nor would there be me, Hyunnie.

I love you all, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I wish you all another great day, and another great year.

❤ Yami Hyunnie ^^~

I got nominated for a Liebster Award?! WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!

Liebster Award Logo

Hey everyone!! I am so so sorry that this particular post has gotten to you guys so very late. My life at the moment is getting pretty hectic; suddenly being forced to move out within one-two months is a big ordeal in my life, as finding a place to live is impossible apparently in the world I live in. But, no matter what happens, blogging will continue! (Even though I was taken away from it for days on end ><)

Andddddd HAPPY CHINESE/LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Hope all you people who celebrate it (me included) had/have a nice time spending with the family and celebrating the New Year with everyone! 恭喜发财!!!

Anyway, thank you to the the lovely Sarah from DramAdrenaline,  Coffeenlucia, Chocokokoro and Kelly from Kellydramafantasy for nominating me for the award!!! You have no idea how much this means to me >//<

So, I honestly cannot believe that this is actually happening; seriously, when I first found out, I thought that it was a joke. I got nominated for a Liebster Award, which in blogging-land is a REALLY BIG DEAL! It is also quite legit, so there are rules and everything! Wait, give me a sec while I run away and calm down for a bit, yeah? *Runs around in a circle for 15 minutes non-stop* Okay…I think I’m…going to be sick!

How the Liebster Awards works:

1. Each nominee link back the person who nominated them.

2. Answer 10 questions which are given to you by the nominator.

3. Nominate 10 other bloggers for this award who have less than 200 followers.

4. Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.

5. Let the nominees know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them.

Alright, firstly I will answer Sarah’s questions, then move onto pantomiming‘s, Chocokokoro’s and finally Kelly‘s okay?

I’M BACK!!! *spirit fingers* With a new start and new perspective for 2014!

keep-calm-because-i-am-back-2

Soooooo I am back from my much needed holiday to the Gold Coast!!! *Crackers and streamers go off* Yes, yes I am well aware that you have all missed me a lot (cough cough) but now I have returned, with a brain full of nothing and a body covered in a slight tan that makes me look more unhealthy then I really was :S

…This is going to be a great start to the new year, huh?

So, what I had wanted to do with this post is introduce to you all some of the new things I intend to do on this site in the coming future cause it’s time to start fresh and new, right?? Also, I want to list down my own personal goals for the new year because it is time to get yourself together Hyunnie!

Alright, so how this will work: two titles – Asia Review Maniac Goals for 2014 and Yami Hyunnie Goals for 2014. Each will list the goals I want to achieve for the year, and hopefully I will return and cross off which ones I have done on this post. If not, then a montage of the goals achieved may be made into some sort of post, and then linked here. Let’s just go with the flow, shall we?

So, let’s start!

10 big pros and cons if your life were actually a K-drama – Post on Dramafever

Hey everyone! Sorry that I haven’t been that active on this blog over the last couple of days; Mummy confiscated my laptop and I’m now hurriedly typing on my big laggy computer in order to feel like I’m living again (which is absolute hell because IT IS SO SLOW!). I’ll have to beg my mum to give it back to me ><

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that I have made another guest post on Dramafever today entitled: “10 big pros and cons if your life were actually a K-drama”.

Love life, and be yourself :)

Hi everybody!

Alright, this post is going to be a little different from usual. I haven’t really spoken out just about life in general for a while now, so I just wanted to speak out for a little bit to “relieve some tension within myself” that has been cooped up for a while now.

Day 30: THE LAST OF…THIS CHALLENGE LOL [get the reference ;)]

Day 30: Why did you start blogging and what is the origin behind your blog’s name?

HEY GUYS AND OMG!!!! We are up to Day 30 AKA THE LAST DAY!!! Thank you to everyone who has been following this challenge for weeks!!

So now, let’s end this.

I had started this blog in order to share with others my passions and loves about Asian culture. Though this blog is still in its early stages, eventually I plan to share a lot more information about numerous cultures. Their music, food, language etc are all very intriguing to discover and understand more about.

Korean culture, in particular, is the main source of interest for me. Being of Chinese background, I was curious about the other cultures that differed from my own. Korean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese etc are all very fascinating to discover and understand. I’ve never been to these countries however I do plan to visit sometime in the future once I am capable. I want to discover what it is like to live there, and understand the people.

I hope to share with others the discoveries I make when looking into these Asian cultures, and plenty more than that. Living in Australia means that I am exposed to numerous cultures everyday, and it is super special AWESOME! I hope to, in the future, talk more about the food that I eat or the movies that I watch, which are all from various cultures all across the globe.

As for the origin of the blog’s name, it is sort of lame. There is no secret meaning behind it, other than what the name ACTUALLY suggests. Asia Reviewer Maniac? The name really says it all I believe.

Now, I’m just gonna make a spam of pretty pictures :3

Japan

Japan

Japan, I think?

Japan, I think? Otherwise the sign is in Chinese…

India.

India.

Korea? Or China?

Korea? Or China?

Korea.

Korea.

Thank you to everyone who has stayed with this challenge. I will be back soon, maybe with another challenge otherwise, a new review 🙂

Anyway, talk to you guys soon~~

❤ Yami Hyunnie ^^~
