Hey everyone, how are you all doing? I’ve been slightly busy over the past week with my part-time job (working at one of the most busiest supermarkets in the area for five days in a row saps everything out of you) so I do apologise for not being able to post over the past week. I’ve been trying to maintain a routine of posting something once a week over the past month or so, which I’ve felt is manageable and a solid routine. Sadly, I couldn’t do that last week, but I hope to make it up to you all with this review!
Today, it is a Chinese movie review, and in fact the first movie review of the year! I finished watching this movie in the cinemas just yesterday, and let’s just say that I went in not expecting much from it, despite the hype.
And, no matter how sad it is to admit this, I kinda thanked myself afterwards for that…Kris gege, I’m so sorry!! Please forgive me and let me explain myself!
So, let us discover together the reasons why, together.
Oh, by the way there is a small spoiler but don’t worry because I’ve noted it beforehand kekeke~
Soooooo I am back from my much needed holiday to the Gold Coast!!! *Crackers and streamers go off* Yes, yes I am well aware that you have all missed me a lot (cough cough) but now I have returned, with a brain full of nothing and a body covered in a slight tan that makes me look more unhealthy then I really was :S
…This is going to be a great start to the new year, huh?
So, what I had wanted to do with this post is introduce to you all some of the new things I intend to do on this site in the coming future cause it’s time to start fresh and new, right?? Also, I want to list down my own personal goals for the new year because it is time to get yourself together Hyunnie!
Alright, so how this will work: two titles – Asia Review Maniac Goals for 2014 and Yami Hyunnie Goals for 2014. Each will list the goals I want to achieve for the year, and hopefully I will return and cross off which ones I have done on this post. If not, then a montage of the goals achieved may be made into some sort of post, and then linked here. Let’s just go with the flow, shall we?
Hey everyone and welcome back to the second part of the Asia Reviewer Maniac Awards 2013! This part will be focusing on the remaining areas that aren’t related to Kpop, which includes dramas and music from other countries, such as Japan. Hope ya’ll enjoy! For those who wanna check out part 1, click on the link below to go and see:
Once again, this list in simply based on my own personal opinion and what I have discovered over the past year. Hopefully next year (by the time this is posted up, it will be this year…EEEEKKKKK!) I will venture out more and discover more fantastic content to share with you all! Sooooo let’s do this! (By the way, clearly this list is less lengthy than the last part, and I do apologise for that! I’m just very passionate about K-pop, ya know?) Continue reading →
Hahaha what a cheesy title huh?I AM BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! Finally! After suffering from days of no blogging, I’m finally able to come back with this; the Asia Reviewer Maniac Awards of 2013! Yes I know, a bit late past Christmas but hey, Christmas is family time peoples; I had to spend it with some of the special people in my life (even though you readers count as a portion of that, sorry!)
2013 has been a huge year for Asian pop culture, whether it is music, dramas or even animes. In particular, Kpop has been huge this year, where the international community has also begun to notice even more about what Korean music has to offer. Nonetheless, other aspects of Asian pop culture such as anime, dramas and other styles of music have also been shone in the spotlight and has been taken notice by other parts of the world as well. God I’m so proud to be Asian :3
Alright so the awards are all based on my own personal opinion, and also what I have been able to see and discover this year. Yes, there will be some categories which will be slightly lacking than others, but please understand that I am but only one person, and it is simply not possible to get around to everyone and everything >< If you aren’t that satisfied with the results I’ve concluded with, then leave a comment below stating what or who you think should have won what category. Also, if you haven’t noticed already from my blog site, it is pretty Kpop biased, so the Kpop section of the awards will take a major portion of the awards lol. Hope you all don’t mind that! And so, here goes!
K-pop
The list below I discovered from Saphirya’s Kpop Award 2013 blog post. She has given a fantastic list, which is what I have based my results from. Go check out her blog site for more Kpop awesomeness! http://saphirya.com/
Not much needs to be said here, and I won’t bother saying much as well in order to avoid ruining the movie for anyone. I should have posted this earlier, but hey, better late than never right?
So, without further ado, I would like to FINALLY present to you Henry’s movie trailer for “Final Recipe”. After news about the release of the film earlier this year was known to our knowledge, al of us (the fans that is) have been waiting and waiting for SOMETHING, ANYTHING!
Hey guys and welcome to my first review on a movie that was made outside of Asia. Today, I will share with you all my thoughts on the film “Eden”, which was released last year in the US. Directed by Megan Griffiths, it is a movie that focuses on the Sex Trade in America, which has been based on a true-story.
A truly inspiring movie…YOU MUST ALL WATCH IT!
In total honesty, I wasn’t initially expecting too much from this film. It was something that caught my attention when I was doing my nightly Google searches online for “Top Asian Films 2012-2013”, and surprise, surprise, this movie popped up.
Hi guys!! Today, I just wanted to bring to you my thoughts on the 2012 film “Hitchcock” which, as the title suggests, is about the life of Alfred Hitchcock, one of the world’s most renowned filmmakers/directors of all time. I have absolutely loved his work ever since I had watch “Psycho” in English class years ago, and I have yet to finish watching a lot more of his works. “Birds”, “Frenzy” and “Rear Window” are just a few that I can mention off the top of my head at the moment, however each and every one of them have left a mark on me ever since a young age (probably not a good thing but, whatever!)
