ASIA REVIEWER MANIAC TURNS 4!!!

Again from the same provider last year~

Again from the same provider last year~

Huh, where has all of our time flown to? How could it already have been another year already? I swear, I’m gradually losing track of time so quickly; I’m worried that I have the memory of a goldfish at times haha. Anyway, today marks the 4th year since the blog had begun, and I am really proud yet baffled about it.

Looking back at what I had wrote exactly one year ago, I feel that I have failed so much in terms of what I have done for the blog. I have been taking unannounced hiatus, and not been posting the best quality works that I can produce. There was a point in time where I was simply just not wanting to post what I was watching, and just wanted to focus on the watching portion. About that limbo I mentioned last year? I’m still there, and to be honest, the future of this blog is still unclear. Despite how much I want to commit to this blog wholeheartedly and expand it more, I’m still up to this point unsure as to whether I would like to go with it.

However, for the sack of you all, these committed, wonderful and supportive readers who have continuously supported this blog, and left comments or even just gave a glance into what I do, I am still driven to maintain this blog, and try to provide the best possible posts that I can provide. I’m considering of venturing into other areas, such as books or music again as I did in the past. If this sounds good, let me know 😉

Hmm, what have I even been doing over the past year? Since our last birthday, statistically we have been on the rise despite my lack of activity in both views and readers, which is just mind-blowing for me. As I’ve mentioned in the past, no matter how busy or tied down by life in general, this blog still continues to be present in the back of my mind, which I guess indicates how difficult it will ever be for me to even consider letting this go because in the end, I really do enjoy just spewing out my thoughts and feelings on a platform that is mine to own and under my own jurisdiction. I am free, which is something that I truly appreciate when my life is always so structured, must follow certain procedures and cannot just simply be complete in my own way or nature. And so, Asia Reviewer Maniac will certainly continue to stay here for (hopefully) many years to come, with definite improvements in quality in both writing and creativity.

Thank you all so much again for being here with me and this blog. I love you all, thank you all again for just being there and I wish you all a lovely day/night, wherever you are in the world! Asia Reviewer Maniac fighting! Hyunnie fighting!

ASIA REVIEWER MANIAC TURNS 3!!!

Happy Birthday Candle and Animals Isolated on white

Not my picture, but omg it is so adorable~~

Once again, another year has passed without much notice. Today marks the 3rd year since the blog first started, and I really am truly proud of it.

As I’ve mentioned in my 2nd birthday post, this blog wasn’t really a big commitment that I had anticipated to follow right from the get-go. The birth of this blog was so abrupt that I myself wasn’t too sure what to do with it. Even now, I still hover in a weird limbo about what I am trying to achieve with this blog, but I feel that I’m slightly more comfortable with the idea of blogging in comparison to how I was last year.

Over the last year, a great amount of things have changed in regards to the blog and in my own personal life. The blog has since doubled in the number of followers and page views ever since last year, which is absolutely mind-boggling to me since I feel that I have been so out-of-touch with this blog. I am absolutely grateful to each and everyone of you who have been following the blog, whether that was a year ago, or even if it was just a couple of days ago; I thank each and every one of you who has visited the blog, and decided to stick around. This blog, regardless of how busy I am with my personal life, is always in my thoughts. Likewise, all of you are always there, reminding me that I still have a place here, doing something that I love and want to do, regardless of what’s happening in my life so far.

Asia Reviewer Maniac will continue to exist, hopefully with better and high quality posts that everyone will be interested in following and reading. Thank you all so much for always being there for me, even when I couldn’t.

I love you all, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I wish you all another great day, and another great year. Asia Reviewer Maniac, fighting!

Reasons why I’m not writing my wrap-up of 2014

The gif say it all >_<

The gif says it all >_<

Hey guys! Today’s post is going to be a little different from usual. As I was going over my blog site this morning, I scrolled through the posts that I made over the past year of 2014 and realised that… I hardly posted anything. In comparison to 2013, 2014 was just atrocious. And honestly, it was a true reflection on how I was in terms of watching dramas or listening to music; I rarely did any of that last year.

Off the top of my head, I can barely rarely remember the number of dramas that I had watched last year (it wasn’t that many, trust me), or my most favourite MVs of 2014. As a result of that, I am planning on not writing any Year-In-Review posts for 2014, as it would just be so embarrassing to show you guys what I have failed to accomplish.

2014 was certainly not a great year for me personally. University work was quite demanding in comparison to the previous year, my practical work for education was a new experience that forced me to be fully immersed in it, and numerous personal issues started popping up left and right that really hindered my time and ability to really enjoy doing the things I love. I had written so many reviews (for K-pop in particular) but due to the immense amount of stress I was under, none of them ever finished since I felt that the quality was just not the same standard as I had previously done.

And so,  I would like to make a pledge right here, right now. For 2015, I would like things to change a little bit. I want to contribute more to the community than I did last year. I’m determined to turn this major slump of mine into motivation to do better than I have ever done before. I promise to have more time for myself to watch the things I love,  and to listen to the things I want to listen to for enjoyment. I won’t give a number of what I will achieve (since I feel that in terms of watching dramas or animes, that isn’t a very realistic thing to do) but a guarantee would be that I will definitely do more than I did last year. I vow to never repeat what I have done for 2014 ever again. And I solemnly swear that to the hundreds and thousands of viewers who visit this blog every year. This is my promise to you all.

Thank you all so much for all the support, and I hope to see you guys quite soon with another post  😉

❤ Yami Hyunnie ^^~

AS IF STILL BURNING

A very moving post about possibly one of the most tragic events that has ever happened in our history during the 20th century. Still to this day, the dropping of the Atomic Bomb over Hiroshima still affects thousands of people each year, and will continue to affect them for generations to come. Do check it out, and I pay my respects to the victims who have been affected by this incident. You will always remain in our thoughts.

hiroshima before    hiroshima after

This week marked the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. Today marks  the anniversary of an even more grotesque event – the dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945. Three days later the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. These remain the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare.

Some 12 km² of Hiroshima were destroyed, as were around 69% of the city’s buildings. The images above, which were taken by the US military on the day, show Hiroshima before and after the bombing. Some 66,000 people are thought to have died in Hiroshima on the day; probably a similar number again died over the next four months as a result of their injuries or from radiation sickness. So fierce was the heat that people were vaporised but their shadows left upon the walls.

In the years since the…

ASIA REVIEWER MANIAC TURNS 2!!!

The picture isn't mine, but it's super cute~

The picture isn’t mine, but it’s super cute~

Yep, you read that right! Today marks that day exactly 2 years ago where I decided to start a blog site in order to share my love for Asian culture.

2 years ago, I didn’t really think much about it. Right after I created the site, I left it alone for months in order to concentrate on my last months of high school, and to finally take those exams in order to decide what I would do with my life. Never would I have thought that Asia Reviewer Maniac would become something part of my life that is just as important as eating or sleeping. I think about the blog constantly, even though I do not get the chance to post as often as I hope to. I do hope to change that, but life always finds a way to make sure that it doesn’t go as smoothly as you hope for.

In two years, I have gained over 400 followers, over 30,000 views and a whole load of friends who share the same passions as I do. Without you all continuously supporting me and the blog, I couldn’t possibly imagine what I would be doing with my life apart from studying or going to a part-time job.

Asia Reviewer Maniac was something that was born with not much planning, thought or concern. But now, I hope to make this blog a place of purpose, enjoyment and knowledge. I thank you all for following the blog, whether it was from early on, or whether it was just yesterday because without you all, there wouldn’t be Asia Reviewer Maniac, nor would there be me, Hyunnie.

I love you all, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I wish you all another great day, and another great year.

❤ Yami Hyunnie ^^~

I finally return to…lawsuits and break ups…WHAT the hell??!

Pfft, I wish LOL!

Pfft, I wish LOL!

I am finally returning!!! Hooray!

Oh my, how I’ve have missed you all! *Kisses and hugs thrown everywhere* Exams are now all complete, essays have all been handed in and I’m slowly gaining my sleeping routine back (staying up for five consecutive nights is the worst sort of pain to ever experience. Trust me, DON’T DO IT!!! ><) So, I’ll be slightly slow, but I’ll get there.

The purpose of this post is simple – it’s just going to be short and sweet, and it’s just a way to say “Thank You for waiting” and that “Yes, I’m still alive!”

A Huge Thank You To…

Hey everyone! Since I’ve been missing in action for the past weeks or so, I totally forgot about the huge announcement I was meant to inform everyone.

20140222-100820.jpg

As the picture above suggests, I have finally reached a milestone in my blogging career (is this considered a career yet??)

Thank you so much for the consistent support you all have provided me over the course of my blogging journey and experience. I started blogging in order to show the rest of the world what Asia had in store for everyone to see. It is truly a blessing to see so many people out there, interested and curious to learn and find out what exists in our Asian culture today. I will continue to move forward, and share what I know about Asian culture to you all and the future readers who may come across this site whilst randomly googling over the internet.

Numbers weren’t the original incentive to start this blog, however they are a sign of motivation to keep going with what I am doing right now, and to try and improve this blog more and more! Once again, thank you all for the wonderful support you have shown me, and I do hope to see more great and wonderful blog posts from your own blog site as well!

Thank you, thank you, thank you~ I absolutely love you all ^//^ Hope you all have a wonderful day, and I will catch up with you all very soon~
