T-ARA & THE SEE YA & 5DOLLS & SPEED – Painkiller (진통제): Not bad, not bad at all…

Hey guys! I’m back with another Kpop review! This time is Painkiller by T-ara, The See Ya, 5Dolls and Speed and I have to say, the MV is totally not what I expected i.e. it was surprisingly good 🙂

Okay, this review is going to mainly focus on the MV, and you guys should definitely check it out and let me know what you thought about it too!

The MV overall is a great take on the song, which sings about someone who is dealing with a difficult breakup. Ji-Yeon (from T-ara) is the only person in the MV however, she allows the song to shine with her exceptional acting. Despite me not really being a T-ara fan (and to be honest, I really despise the members – they don’t seem genuine to me, sorry!), I have liked their songs for quite a while. Ji-Yeon does a great job in acting this MV, and we can sympathise the pain and suffering she must be going through during her depression.

The song also is quite impressive. I’m a big fan of Speed, and I also like the other artists’ singing however I must admit, it was kind of difficult to pinpoint who was singing at which point during my first hearing. However, it was a pleasure to listen to while watching the MV. Collaborations are always welcome in my books, and this, I believe, was a successful one.

As for the plot of the MV, it might not be quite clear since you only see Ji-Yeon. What I understand is that she has just broken up, and has got a prescription of painkillers which I must add, ARE POISONOUS!!!! (JI-YEON, CHECK THE LABEL, GOD-DAMMIT! Whoever gave her those pills should be sued. She is Korean, and most likely CAN’T READ ENGLISH!! Damn you…) *cough cough* ummmm as I was saying, she keeps taking these pills which I assume is ‘meant’ to help with her depression (failed miserably at that). In the end, she hopes to go back in time to a moment where she is happier, and just ends up dying in the process. The end!

For a better understanding of the MV however, I would recommend you watch the MV for yourself, and comment on what you thought about the MV. Did the song suit the MV, or was it just too angst for you? Is my interpretaion similar to yours? If not, comment below and tell me what you thought of it!

So yeah, I hope to catch up with you guys soon! Hopefully, I can get another review up soon and also my 30 day challenge post! See you soon~~
