This is a post that I just wanted to share about a couple of things that have happened in my life just over the couple of days.
Firstly, THANK YOU TO ALL MY NEW FOLLOWERS/ LIKES!!!! OMG!!!! I never expected my post for the ‘weekly photo challenge’ to gain so much popularity. As a new blogger (can I call myself that yet?) I really expected my blog to be slow, and then gradually I would gain a couple of followers and likes. Never would I have expected that my one post exploded into so many people liking and commenting (by the way, I LOVE READING COMMENTS! Makes me so happy ^^) So, thank you, thank you to all that have viewed, liked, commented and then finally ended up clicking on that follow button up top – you guys are AWESOME!!
I must be on a high or something because it seems that my life is turning for the better. Today I went to work (on a Sunday, I know right? Supermarkets DON’T KNOW WHAT A WEEKEND IS -_-) and it was CRAZY!!! This is just what happens when the weather outside is buckets of rain, and nothing else. Anyway, with hundreds of people around you coughing, sneezing, crying etc., no one would expect today to be any different. So, as I was scanning groceries as per usual, my boss suddenly comes up to my side. Now, I must express this really quickly, and I assuming that this applies to a majority of people. My boss (who must not be named :/) is a person who is intimidating if you are not on a personal/long known relationship with him. Though I have been with this store for over three years, it still doesn’t seem long enough to be ‘personally’ recognised by him. But, a miracle happened. Today, he came up to me and said something along the lines of:
“A customer just came up to me and said that you are the fastest checkout operator she has ever met. She was really happy about it.”
I was so shocked. Yes, I have been told by numerous people that I was fast. I’ve even recently been promoted to a ‘supervisor’ position because of it. But, these were from co-workers, not the boss. I was gob-smacked.
“So, what do have to say about that?”
“Oh, urh, yay!!!” I peeped out in panic. He took one more look at me, and left.
Heartbeat calms down, breath is back to normal. Finally, I feel a wave of peace and happiness travel through me. Smile widens and I feel so much happier about the day, and what is to come. I smile, customer smiles back and what I feel is that, that is all I need – a smile. Why? All because a customer who I had just served a couple of minutes before, bothered to tell my boss that they were really satisfied with my service. And I feel freakin’ amazing.
So, what I just wanted to say is these simple acts of kindness, like giving a person a compliment, or bothering to offer someone a helping hand, can really mean a lot to someone, or even some people. So, thank you to the lady who did tell my boss that you were happy with what I did. You have just made my day, thank you.
And on just one final note. I haven’t started this blog so that I can gain more popularity or anything like that. I did start it however because I wanted to share to a wide community my passions, my thoughts, my feelings and to hopefully educate someone or some people, for the better.
Now, just to share a couple of photos so that I can hopefully make my happy day, happy for someone else too~
So, I hope you all enjoyed and I hope to talk to you soon~~
